Walk
for the Animals 2007 Raises an Estimated $28,000
The
Walk for the Animals, previously known as Doggie Dash
raised an estimated $28,000 beating last year's $26,000
for the Delta Humane Society. The fun filled event began
at 9:00 a.m., August 4th, 2007. Nearly a hundred people
showed at Nelson
Park in the Brookside area of Stockton, California
making this one of the most successful Walk for the
Animals. We wish to thank Alan
the Intern of Good Day Sacramento for carrying the
event live on the Saturday morning broadcast of Good
Day Sacramento as well as the staff of the Delta
Humane Society & S.P.C.A., volunteers, vendors,
contributors and entrants who made this event possible.
Several Doggie
Contests took place including: Best Barker, Best Dressed,
Largest Pet, Smallest Pet, Pet-Owner Look-a-like, Best
Pet Trick, Tail Wagging, Oldest Pet, Shortest Tail and
Best Kisser. Water was provided for entrants and their
pets. Other food and drinks were available for purchase.
All proceeds will benefit the Delta Humane Society &
S.P.C.A. and the homeless pets housed at the facilities.
