The public is invited to our main shelter for beverages, snacks, shelter tour, and a visit with Santa. Staff and volunteers will also be accepting gifts for the shelter and its residents during this event.

The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is having two October Fundraising Meetings. These meetings are to plan the necessary logistics and organize the volunteers needed for the Doggie Dash 2012 event.
If you are interested in Volunteering for Doggie Dash 2012 or looking to work with the shelter please attend the first meeting. The first meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm Wednesday, October 10th at Ciao Bella located at 5646 North Pershing Avenue in Stockton, California. The second meeting will take place at Carter's Pet Mart located at 909 West March Lane, in Stockton, California at 5:30pm on Friday, October 19th, 2012.
Doggie Dash 2012 is scheduled for October 20th. Registration will begin before 9am and the festivities will begin shortly after 9am. In addition Doggie Dash 2012 is joining Carter's Pet Mart Customer Appreciation Days for Saturday, October 20th only. Carter's Pet Mart and Doggie Dash 2012 will be located at 909 West March Lane, in the College Square Parking Lot, in Stockton, California.

Delta Humane Society Thrift & Gift Boutique has
expanded bringing with it more great deals and steals.
Our new expansion features a media area containing books,
records, tapes, CDs, DVD's and many other types of media.
With this expansion also comes more floor space for
your traditional thrift store goods including glassware,
clothes, small furniture, small appliances, flatware,
art work, collectibles and everything else.
The store
is located across from Lincoln Center North at 6830
Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California. Our hours of
operation are from 10am until 5pm, Monday through Saturday.
Proceeds will directly fund the Delta Humane Society
& S.P.C.A., a no-kill shelter, and allow us to continue
our mission. Please come by and see what great deals
we have to offer as one of the best thrift shopping
experiences in San Joaquin County.
We
are always accepting donations of new or gently used
items at the store. Items may be dropped off during
our hours of operation. The best part about donating
items and shopping at our store is knowing that you
will be helping a good cause. All items donated are
tax-deductable as the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A.
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Sorry, but we
cannot accept the following items at our thrift store:
mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, bed

Coots on Scoots Ride for Delta Humane Society
March 24th, 2012
The Old
Coots On Scoots Central Valley Riders Chapter 10 hosted a benefit run for the Delta Humane Society &
S.P.C.A. on Saturday, March 24th, 2012. They arrived
at the shelter with kitty litter, dry cat food, dry
dog food, monetary donations and other wonderful items
for the shelter's residents. These outstanding shelter
supporters braved the rain and other weather elements
to deliver these wonderful and much needed items to
the shelter.
The shelter's
animals, staff and friends would like to thank the Old
Coots on Scoots Central Valley Riders for their efforts
and hope that their rides remain cool and smooth.

Want Your Newspapers!
Winter 2012
The Delta
Humane Society & S.P.C.A. wants to reuse your old
clean newspapers. The shelter uses newspapers as lining
for their cages as a low-cost saving measure however
our supply is running low. To help us out all you have
to do is bundle up your clean and dry old newspapers
and drop them off at the main shelter located at 4590
S. Highway 99 Frontage Road in Stockton, California,
during our business hours of Wednesday through Saturday,
12:00pm to 5:00pm.
Give
A Heart
February 1st-14th, 2012
The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is running a Give
A Heart fund drive to help the homeless pets at our
no-kill animal shelter between February 1st and February
14th. This fund drive has several methods of helping
the animals. You can help by shopping or donating items
with a heart at the Delta Humane Society Thrift &
Gift Boutique during our business hours of Monday though
Saturday between 10am and 5pm.
In addition cash contributions to the shelter can by
made through several methods. You can mail your check
to Delta Humane Society "Give A Heart" PO
Box 30908, Stockton Ca, 95213. Walk-in donations can
be made at the Delta Humane Society Thrift & Gift
Boutique at 6830 Pacific Avenue in Stockton or the Main

The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Purr Ball will be
held on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at the American
Legion Ed Stewart Post #803 located at 3110 West Lane
in Stockton, California. Tickets are only $25 per person
for the 6pm to 10pm event which includes a no-host bar,
light appetizers, music and dancing.
We are asking

Stampede Hosts Model Horse Benefit for Delta Humane!

The Delta
Stampede is hosting a one-day all-breed show open to
model horses of all makes. The show is a NAN qualifier
and is a Region 2 qualifying show. All proceeds will
benefit the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. and
the shelter's no-kill programs. In addition a pet food
drive will be conducted. Please consider donating a

Dash Festival 2011 on Saturday, June 11th, 2011.
Doggie Dash for the first time featured our brand new
Dachshund Race! Victory Park, where the event was held,
was filled with attendees and vendors of every sort.
Those that registered were allowed to participate in
our One Mile Fun Pledge Walk and the various Doggie
Contests that took place. The Delta Humane Society &
S.P.C.A. wishes to thank all volunteers, staff, attendees,
vendors, donors, local area publications and everyone
else who made Doggie Dash
2011 possible.

Open House 2010

The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Holiday Open House
was held on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 between 11am
and 3pm. People brought their pets for picture with
Santa. Those that came also enjoyed some refreshments
and snacks as well as a tour of our adoption facility
and latest additions to the shelter including the Holly's
Garden and Dog Socialization Area.

The staff and volunteers accepted gifts on behalf of
the shelter residents. For those who missed the Open

Serpa's 7th and 8th Grade Class at James Monroe Elementary

blankets, stuffed animals, grooming supplies, pet wear
and money to the shelter. We at the Delta Humane Society
are proud at what these students accomplished and thank

With the
continued deteriorating economy, the Delta Humane Society
& S.P.C.A. is being forced to cut back its hour
of operation and public service. Here is a message from
Patrice Davidson, Executive Director:
"We've
looked for every way to cut spending and save money
without reducing public adoption services, but we are
now forced to reduce our business hours. These economic
emergency cuts will not affect the daily care, handling
and welfare of the animals awaiting adoption. It is
our hope that public contributions will soon rise and
we will be able to resume normal hours and operations
for the public."
Effective
immediately the new business hours for the shelter are
WEDNESDAY - SATURDAY, Noon to 5pm
Our shelter
facility is located at 4590 S. Highway 99 Frontage Road
in Stockton, California.

Humane Society Purr Ball

The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Purr Ball was held
on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010. The fun this year took
place at the American Legion Ed Stewart Post #803 located
at 3110 West Lane in Stockton, California. Tickets were
only $25 per person for the nearly sold out event which
included a no-host bar, light appetizers, music and
dancing.
People were
asked to dress
to impress for the Costume Contests and they sure did.
We would like to thank those who won, bided on and purchased
raffle tickets for the various raffle prizes and silent
auction items. We wish to thanks all those who made
this event possible and remember all proceeds will benefit
the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. and the homeless
animals at the shelter.
Delta
Humane Society Yard Sale Great Success!
Friday and Saturday, July 25-26th, 2010
The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Yard Sale was a
great success. Most of the wonderful donated items were
sold. The items left over will be packaged and stored
for a future yard sale, date yet to be determined.
We want to
thank all those who donated items for the yard sale.
Also we want to thank the Delta Humane Society &
S.P.C.A. shelter staff and volunteers for setting up
and running this event. Lastly we want to thank all
the customers who came and hunted through the various
items we had for sale and found those hidden treasures
which they kindly purchased.
All proceeds
of this yard sale will directly benefit the residents
of the shelter.

is that time again and the Doggie Dash Festival 2010
is getting ready for you on Saturday, June 5th. The
event is scheduled for 9am at Victory Park in Stockton,
California. This year's event will include a 1 mile
fun pledge walk & Doggie Contests at the Pet Fashion
Show in the following categories: Look-a-Like, Best
Tail Wagger, Best Kisser and Best Barker.

Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is proud to announce
the launch of the official I CARE Campaign. When animals
come to the Delta Humane Society's No-Kill Shelter,
they are loved, fed, made comfortable and stay until
adopted. If for whatever reason they are not adopted,
they are granted a haven at the shelter for life.
The continuing
economic crisis, staggering home mortgage foreclosures
and abandonment of family pets is making the need for
our services greater than ever. We have cut our budget
to the bone, but more funds are desperately needed for
the continued operation of our shelter, adoption services
and education and awareness programs for the public.

Holly's
Garden & Dog Socialization Area Now Open
Spring, 2010
The
Holly's Garden and Dog Socialization Area is now open.
After several years of hard work and tons of effort
the garden and dog socialization project in memory of
former Assistant Manager Holly Duncan is now complete.
The funds for this new area were previously raised at
the Holly-ween Costume Balls in 2006 and 2007 with construction
beginning in 2008 and ending in winter of 2010. The
dedication was held on March 13th, 2010 and is now open
for staff, volunteers and animal residents at the shelter.
Please come
by and adopt one of canine residents and while at the
shelter please take a moment to walk through and enjoy
the Holly's Garden and Dog Socialization area at our
main shelter site.
Winter
Holiday Open House Huge Success!
Saturday, December 12th, 2009
The
Annual Delta Humane Society and S.P.C.A. Winter Holiday
Open House was a huge success! This year several friends
of the shelter joined the animal residents and staff
on Saturday, December 12th for refreshments and snacks
along with a tour of our adoption facility, cattery
and dog kennels. Those that came brought their pets
for a picture with Santa. The event was held at the
Main Shelter located at 4590 S. Hwy 99 Frontage Rd near
the Arch Road exit in Stockton.
The staff
accepted many gifts and other donations on behalf of
the many homeless pets at the shelter. Items that were
donated included: Pet Grooming Tools, Pet Beds, Blankets,
Dog Toys, Powder Kitten Formula, Dog Collars,
Dog Leashes, Dog Sweaters, Cat Toys, Cat Treats, Bleach
& Other Disinfectants, 33 Gallon Trash Bags, Office
Supplies, White Copier Paper, Kitten Food and Cash.
For those that missed
the event and would like to make a gift donation still
a Wish List is available for download. The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. would like to thank
those individuals, groups and organizations that help

The 2009 Delta Humane Society &
S.P.C.A. Purr Ball was a great success. The dancing
and fun begun around 6pm and lasted late into the night
at the Memorial Auditorium in Micke Grove Regional Park.
There were several wonderful costumes and several happy
winners in various costume competitions. Those who were
brave had their fortunes told by Madam Gypsy. Once the
evening came to a close the shelter had raised around
$2400 for the animals who would like express their thanks
to all those who attended and made this event possible.

Humane Wants Your Newspapers
Fall 2009
The Delta
Humane Society & S.P.C.A. wants to reuse your read
newspapers. The shelter uses newspapers as lining for
their cages as a low-cost saving measure however our
supply is running low. To help us out all you have to
do is bundle up your clean and dry old newspapers and
drop them off at the main shelter located at 4590 S.
HWY 99 Frontage Road in Stockton, California, during
the time and days of Tuesday through Saturday 12:00pm
to 5:00pm.
The
Mission of the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is
to promote the humane treatment of animals and to promote
the bond of caring between humans and animals. We do not
destroy our animals. We accomplish our mission by providing
shelter, care and adoption services for misplaced pets.
We seek to educate and make the county's citizens aware
of their responsibilities in the crisis of pet overpopulation.
We promote public awareness for the care of all animals
in our world.
The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is having two October Fundraising Meetings. These meetings are to plan the necessary logistics and organize the volunteers needed for the Doggie Dash 2012 event. 
The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is having a mid September Fundraising Meeting. This meeting is to plan the necessary logistics and organize the volunteers needed for this event. 
The
Delta Humane Society Thrift & Gift Boutique has
expanded bringing with it more great deals and steals.
Our new expansion features a media area containing books,
records, tapes, CDs, DVD's and many other types of media.
With this expansion also comes more floor space for
your traditional thrift store goods including glassware,
clothes, small furniture, small appliances, flatware,
art work, collectibles and everything else.
We
are always accepting donations of new or gently used
items at the store. Items may be dropped off during
our hours of operation. The best part about donating
items and shopping at our store is knowing that you
will be helping a good cause. All items donated are
tax-deductable as the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A.
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Sorry, but we
cannot accept the following items at our thrift store:
mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, bed
pillows, strollers, high chairs, baby furniture, children's
car seats, broken or stained or damaged items. If you
have any questions about items you wish to donate please
feel free to contact the store at any time during our
hours of operation. 
The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is running a Give
A Heart fund drive to help the homeless pets at our
no-kill animal shelter between February 1st and February
14th. This fund drive has several methods of helping
the animals. You can help by shopping or donating items
with a heart at the Delta Humane Society Thrift &
Gift Boutique during our business hours of Monday though
Saturday between 10am and 5pm.
The
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Purr Ball will be
held on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at the American
Legion Ed Stewart Post #803 located at 3110 West Lane
in Stockton, California. Tickets are only $25 per person
for the 6pm to 10pm event which includes a no-host bar,
light appetizers, music and dancing.
It's
time to help vote the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A.
as the best Pet Rescue/Shelter and Pet Adoption in the
San Joaquin area for 2011. Last year the
Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. was voted as the
Number One Pet Rescue/Shelter in The Record's Best of
San Joaquin 2010. 
The
