Walk for the Animals 2008
June 28th, 2008

Walk for the Animals 2007 participant.The Walk for the Animals, previously known as Doggie Dash raised over $28,000 last year for the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. This year's event will be held on June 28th at Nelson Park located in the Brookside area of Stockton, California. Details for the event are still being worked out. For those volunteering or assisting with the event, remember there is a Fundraising Meeting scheduled for April 9th at Nelson Park to go over event details. Open House
Saturday, December 15th, 2007

The Annual Delta Humane Society and S.P.C.A. Open House is here again. This year we ask you and your friends to join the animals and staff on Saturday, December 15th between 11am and 2pm for refreshments and snacks along with a tour of our adoption facility, cattery and dog kennels. You can bring your pet for a picture with Santa. The event will be at the Main Shelter located at 4590 S. Hwy 99 Frontage Rd near the Arch Rd exit in Stockton.

The staff will also accept gifts and other donations for the many homeless pets at the shelter. Items that may be donated include: Pet Grooming Tools, Pet Beds, Blankets, Dog Toys, Powder Kitten Formula, Dog Collars, Dog Leashes, Dog Sweaters, Cat Toys, Cat Treats, Bleach & Other Disinfectants, 33 Gallon Trash Bags, Office Supplies, Kitten Food and Cash and Gift Certificates from: Petsmart, PetCo, Walmart, Target, Home Depot etc. The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. would like to thank those that helped make this event possible. Holly-ween Event Raises Over $3000
October 20th, 2007

The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. hosted its second Holly-ween Costume Ball on Saturday October 20th, 2007. The event was to be held in memory of Holly Duncan, Delta Humane Society Assistant Manager who was killed by injuries sustained in an automobile collision on the way to work on January 13th, 2006. Tickets were $25 per person for the fun-filled evening at the Stockton Empire Theater, located on the Miracle Mile at 1825 Pacific Avenue in Stockton. The evening itself raised at least $3000 and the figures are still being added up.

Music, provided by DJ Rita started at 7pm and the dancing was kicked off by 8pm. Several prizes were available in a raffle with tickets that were available for purchase throughout the evening. Prizes for costumes were awarded for Best Costume, Best Couple, Scariest Person, Funniest, most Original and Best Animal. There were an estimated 200 people throughout the evening as the party continued hard until closing time at 11pm.

The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. and the Duncan Family wishes to thank all of the people and sponsors who helped make this event possible.

Evening in the Vineyards Raises an Estimated $5000
September 7th, 2007

The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. hosted its Evening in the Vineyards on Friday, September 7th, 2007. The wine, dinner, live music, silent auction and fun began at 6pm and lasted until about 8:30pm at the Peirano Vineyards located north of Lodi at 21831 N. Highway 99 at the Acampo exit. Tickets were $40 per person. Raffle tickets were also available for purchase for some wonderful prizes.

Walk for the Animals Raises an Estimated $28,000

The Walk for the Animals, previously known as Doggie Dash raised an estimated $28,000 beating last year's $26,000 for the Delta Humane Society. The fun filled event began at 9:00 a.m., August 4th, 2007. Nearly a hundred people showed at Nelson Park in the Brookside area of Stockton, California making this one of the most successful Walk for the Animals. We wish to thank Alan the Intern of Good Day Sacramento for carrying the event live on the Saturday morning broadcast of Good Day Sacramento as well as the staff of the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A., volunteers, vendors, contributors and entrants who made this event possible. Several Doggie Contests took place including: Best Barker, Best Dressed, Largest Pet, Smallest Pet, Pet-Owner Look-a-like, Best Pet Trick, Tail Wagging, Oldest Pet, Shortest Tail and Best Kisser. Water was provided for entrants and their pets. Other food and drinks were available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. and the homeless pets housed at the facilities.

The fun filled event will begin at 9:00 a.m., August 4th, 2007 at Nelson Park located in the Brookside area of Stockton, California. Entrance is $20 for those who register before July 28th, 2007. The fee after this date is $25. Remember to bring your family and pet for this afternoon of fun. Hot Hawaiian Nights raised nearly $1700

The Delta Humane Society and S.P.C.A. hosted its first Hot Hawaiian Nights event. The fun filled evening in a lush tropical outdoor setting was on the night of Friday, July 20th. There were cocktails, hors d'oeuvre's, silent auctions and live entertainment by Gentle Wind. Tickets were only $35. The Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. wishes to thank Sharon Harlowe of Stockton, California for hosting this event.

Hot Hawaiian Nights

The Delta Humane Society and S.P.C.A. is hosting its first Hot Hawaiian Nights event. Delicato Wine Tasting
May 4th, 2007

The 16th Annual Delicato Wine Tasting will be held on Friday, May 4th, 2007 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at the Delicato Vineyards. Tickets are available at $15.00 per person for an evening filled with wine and prizes. Last years wine tasting event raised over $2000. We accomplish our mission by providing shelter, care and adoption services for misplaced pets. We seek to educate and make the county's citizens aware of their responsibilities in the crisis of pet overpopulation. We promote public awareness for the care of all animals in our world.
